Baseball Hosts Villanova For Fall Game

Nittany Lions meet Wildcats on Friday at 5 p.m.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State baseball team welcomes Villanova on Friday, September 26 for a Fall game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. with free admission for all ages.

 

The Nittany Lions host Villanova for their first of three Fall Ball games. Penn State welcomes Team Ontario on Friday, Oct. 10 and Bucknell on Friday, Oct. 17.

 

Penn State, led by head coach Mike Gambino, finished the 2025 season with a 33-23 record, posting its second-most wins in a season. PSU reached the 30-win mark for the first time since 2011. The Nittany Lions made another strong run in the Big Ten Tournament, reaching the semifinals in back-to-back years for the first time since 2000-01.

 

The Nittany Lions return 18 members from the 2025 squad, including five hitters who started 36+ games last season. Bryce Molinaro (13), Jesse Jaconski (12) and Jack Porter (10) return after hitting double-digit homers a year ago. Porter was an ABCA All-Region second team selection.

 

On the mound, Penn State brings back nine pitchers who made 10+ appearances in 2025.

 

Penn State welcomes 21 newcomers, including 10 hitters and 11 pitchers. PSU brought in six transfer hitters and three transfer pitchers.

 

Villanova, led by Kevin Mulvey, won 22 games in 2025.

  • Parking for all athletics events requires a valid university permit or payment of an applicable parking fee. Parking can be purchased in advance (by 11:59 p.m. the day prior to each event) at a discounted rate on ParkWhiz. Parking can also be purchased at full price on game day on ParkWhiz.
  • Parking for Penn State Baseball games can be found in the Jordan East and Porter North parking lots.
  • Parking for all non-football athletics events is managed by Penn State Transportation Services.
