Penn State Student-Athlete Postgame Quotes - Northwestern

Quotes from Penn State Student-Athletes following Penn State's game against Northwestern on October 11, 2025

Devonte Ross | WR | Senior

Q: This was, yourself included with Kyron and Trebor, a pretty high-profile transfer class. Do you feel like you guys have played to your potential?

A: I mean, I think there’s always room for improvement in any phase of life and in football. There’s always room to grow. We just have to go back to the film, continue to get better. Whoever’s coming in to back up Drew, whatever [the wide receivers] can do to instill confidence in them and just make plays for them, that’s what we’re doing.

Q: What has to change at Iowa next week to get a win?

A: I mean, that’s far from now, but I think I just want to take this in. Obviously, it’s a situation we don’t want to be in, so going back to work, staying close to my teammates and everyone in that building. We’ve got 100% trust in everybody in that building, so just focusing on taking it one day at a time for now.

Q: What were you thinking about during your long run today?

A: I just saw green grass and wanted to run as fast as I could.

Q: What’s the biggest thing to play for at this point?

A: Oh, I mean, the biggest thing to play for is just the love of the game. We love each other and we want to go 1-0 every single week. We’re going to rally around each other and keep playing for each other.

Q: How key is it to avoid pointing fingers within the locker room right now?

A: We're not going to point fingers. That's not what we do. We train too hard together. Deal with ourselves together through good and bad. We're not going to point fingers just because we got a little bump in the road. That's not who we are.

Q: How much is it about pride moving forward the second half of this season? How much is pride involved there?

A: Pride has been involved since day one. We hold this emblem, the Penn State logo, with a lot of pride. I don't wear that just to be cool or whatever the case may be. I do that with a lot of pride, because the town and the city work a lot for us, so I feel like that's what we owe the city.

Q: As a team leader, what is your as one of the top leaders on this team tomorrow night or tomorrow morning, maybe tonight. What do you do right now to try to stop the bleeding and get guys back on track?

A: Look yourself in the mirror. The bleeding will continue as long as you allow it. You have to be critical on yourself. Everybody has mistakes. I'm going to have mistakes, so you have to be critical of yourself. Don't just look at the good, look for the bad. Find ways to grow, so we can improve from this.
