TEAM

  • Penn State is now 16-6 all-time against Northwestern.
  • The Nittany Lions are 75-25-5 in homecoming games.
  • S Dejuan Lane and LB Keon Wylie made their first career start, the eighth and ninth Nittany Lions to make their first collegiate start this season.
  • Lane and Wylie are also two of 13 Nittany Lions to make their first start in a Penn State uniform.

 

STREAKS

  • Penn State has not allowed a special teams touchdown in 83-straight games, dating back to the start of the 2019 season.

 

OFFENSE

Team

 

Drew Allar

  • QB Drew Allar threw for 137 yards, while adding 25 rushing yards and a touchdown.
  • Allar scored on a 1-yard rush in the fourth quarter. It was his 12th career rushing touchdown, moving him into sole possession of sixth all-time at Penn State. He broke a tie with Zack Mills (11; 2001-04).
  • With 20 pass attempts on Saturday, Allar went over 1,000 career pass attempts. He is one of five Nittany Lions to reach that mark.

 

Kaytron Allen

  • RB Kaytron Allen rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.
  • Allen scored on an 11-yard rush in the second quarter.
  • With his 31st career rushing touchdown, Allen broke a tie for sixth all-time at Penn State with Charlie Pittman (30; 1967-69) and Trace McSorley (30; 2015-18).
  • He has a rushing touchdown in all six games this season. The last Nittany Lion with a rushing touchdown in six-straight games was Nicholas Singleton (2024-25).
  • Allen now has 3,344 career rushing yards, ranking fourth all-time at Penn State. On the day, he moved past Curtis Enis (3,256; 1995-97), Blair Thomas (3,301; 1985-87) and Tony Hunt (3,320; 2003-06).
  • The senior now has 629 career rushing attempts, moving into sixth all-time at Penn State. He jumped D.J. Dozier (624; 1983-86).

 

Nicholas Singleton

  • RB Nicholas Singleton scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter.
  • With his 38th career rushing touchdown, Singleton moved into a tie for second all-time at Penn State with Lydell Mitchell (38; 1969-71). He is five rushing touchdowns behind Saquon Barkley’s (43; 2015-17) record.
  • It was also Singleton’s 47th career total touchdown (38 rushing, 8 receiving, 1 kick return) at Penn State. He is six touchdowns behind Barkley’s record (53; 2015-17).
  • With 569 career rushing attempts, Singleton now ranks ninth all-time at Penn State. He moved past Curtis Enis (565; 1995-97).

 

Devonte Ross

  • WR Devonte Ross finished the game with seven receptions for 115 yards.
  • It was his fifth career 100-yard receiving game and first as a Nittany Lion.
  • Ross hauled in a 67-yard reception in the fourth quarter and added a 20-yard catch in the first quarter. He has 25 career receptions of 20+ yards.

 

DEFENSE

 

Team

  • Penn State CB Audavion Collins recovered a muffed punt in the second quarter. It was Penn State’s eighth takeaway this season (four fumbles, four interceptions).
  • Since 2022, Penn State has forced 84 takeaways (50 interceptions, 34 fumbles).
  • Penn State recorded a red-zone stop in the fourth quarter, its fourth red-zone stop this season.
  • The Nittany Lions limited Northwestern to 282 total yards. Since 2014, Penn State has held an opponent under 300 total yards on 72 occasions.
  • Penn State allowed 163 passing yards, its 86th time holding an opponent under 200 passing yards since 2014.
  • The Nittany Lions held the Wildcats to 119 rushing yards, its 70th time holding an opponent under 200 rushing yards since 2014.

 

Zane Durant

  • DT Zane Durant finished the game with a career-high eight stops. His previous high was five, on two occasions and last at Minnesota in 2024.
  • Durant recorded a solo sack in the first quarter. He owns 20 career tackles for loss and eight career sacks.

 

Zuriah Fisher

  • DE Zuriah Fisher recorded a solo sack in the fourth quarter. He owns 5.5 career sacks.
  • He added two quarterback hurries.

 

Keon Wylie

  • LB Keon Wylie set a new career high with six tackles, while making his first career start. His previous high was four tackles at Illinois in 2023.

 

Audavion Collins

  • CB Audavion Collins collected a career-high six stops. His previous high was five tackles, on two occasions and last against Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

 

Team

  • DE Dani Dennis-Sutton blocked a punt in the first quarter. It was his second blocked punt and Penn State’s third blocked punt this season. Penn State has three blocked punts in a season for the first time since 2019 (2 vs. Idaho; 1 vs. Buffalo; 1 at Michigan State).
  • Dennis-Sutton became Penn State’s first Nittany Lion with a blocked punt in back-to-back games (at UCLA, vs. Northwestern) since Andre Collins in 1989 (at Texas, at Rutgers).

 

Ryan Barker

  • K Ryan Barker converted all three extra points. He has converted 71-of-72 career extra-point attempts.

 

Gabriel Nwosu

  • P Gabriel Nwosu averaged 41.3 yards on three punts, while landing two inside the 10.
  • Nwosu blasted a 55-yard punt to the Northwestern 1 in the third quarter.
  • Nwosu hit a punt to the Northwestern 10 later in the third quarter.
  • He has landed eight punts inside the 20 and six inside the 10 this season.

 

Corey Smith

  • KR Corey Smith had a 34-yard kick return in the second quarter.

 

Dani Dennis-Sutton

  • DE Dani Dennis-Sutton has a blocked punt in back-to-back games after recording one on Penn State’s first defensive drive against Northwestern. Dennis-Sutton's blocked punt against UCLA resulted in a touchdown for WR Liam Clifford.
  • Dennis-Sutton became Penn State’s first Nittany Lion with a blocked punt in back-to-back games (at UCLA, vs. Northwestern) since Andre Collins in 1989 (at Texas, at Rutgers).
