DAVOS, Switzerland – Penn State sophomore Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.) was announced as part of five players added to the United States Collegiate Select Team ahead of the 2025 Spengler Cup as announced by College Hockey Inc. earlier Thursday afternoon.

Cerrato joins junior classmates Aiden Fink (Calgary, Alberta) and Mac Gadowsky (State College, Pa.), who were both named as part of the First Five last week as returning All-Americans. All returning First and Second Team AHCA/CCM All-Americans received an automatic invitation to the team. The remainder of the roster, which will include representation from all six conferences, will be constructed by the USCS coaching staff and organizing committee, with guidance from select NHL scouts.

Along with Cerrato, Michigan forward TJ Hughes, Notre Dame forwards Danny Nelson and Cole Knuble and Denver defenseman Eric Pohlkamp were also selected bringing the current roster to 10 players with more being invited and announced in the coming weeks.

It was announced back in August that Nittany Lion Bench Boss Guy Gadowsky will serve as the USCS Head Coach this winter in Davos.

For the first time in the 102-year history of the tournament, which dates back to 1923 making it the oldest invitational ice hockey tournament in the world, a team of top NCAA collegiate players will compete, led by Gadowsky.

Cerrato is the nation’s point leader entering the third week of the season with 11 points on three goals and a national best eight assists through four games. The sophomore has registered at least one point in each game so far this season with three multi-point efforts. Dating back to the end of last season, Cerrato has at least one point in 12 of his last 13 games with 28 points over that span including 22 assists and nine multi-point games.

Cerrato became just the second Nittany Lion rookie all-time to eclipse 40 points last season finishing the year with 42 as he led the Big Ten in each offensive category with 15 goals and 27 assists accounting for those 42 points. His 42 points and 27 assists were second nationally among first-year skaters while his 15 goals were good for fourth.
