ROSEMONT, Ill. – Sophomore Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.) was named the Big Ten Hockey First Star of the Week following a six-point outburst in a weekend sweep at No. 14 Arizona State as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. This marks the first career weekly accolade for Cerrato.

Cerrato factored in on six of Penn State's 10 goals over the weekend scoring a pair of goals while adding four assists with a plus-4 rating. His six points on the weekend were good for second in the nation over the two games.

The sophomore collected a pair of goals to go along with three assists, including the primary assist on the game-tying and game-winning goals in the third period of Friday's 6-3 victory. His five points on Friday were a new career-best and tied a Nittany Lion single-game record.

Cerrato then added the secondary assist on the game-tying goal on Saturday night. Going back to last season, Cerrato has now registered at least one point in 10 of his last 11 games with multi-point efforts in seven of those.
