Crowell announces talented quartet of signees set to begin collegiate careers in 2027

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State softball program and head coach Clarisa Crowell announced the team’s 2025 National Signing Day class on Thursday morning, with four student-athletes inking national letters of intent to begin their collegiate careers in Happy Valley during the 2027 spring campaign.

“We are thrilled to announce and welcome our 2026 signing class to our Penn State Softball family,” Crowell said. “This group embodies comprehensive excellence, and I know they will be great representatives of our program and university, while excelling at a high level both on the field and in the classroom. I am very excited about this talented group of student athletes, and I know they will have a significant impact on our program. Please help me to welcome Lily, Ryleigh, Maddie and Avery.”

The Blue & White welcomed catcher Lily Duffill, outfielder Ryleigh Kiel, middle infielder Maddie Henry and middle infielder Avery Gehrke following the start of the 2025 NCAA Early Signing Period on Wednesday. Penn State’s signing class features a pair of athletes hailing from the state of Illinois, one from Arizona and one more residing in the Keystone State of Pennsylvania. PSU’s pair of Illinois additions continue to highlight a successful recruiting pipeline from the state to Happy Valley, with the duo of Henry and Kiel joining current Nittany Lions in junior utilities Michela Barbanente and Brooke Klosowicz, as well as freshman outfielder Breanna Hanik. Duffill continues PSU’s tradition of recruiting the commonwealth, with the future Nittany Lion joining six current Penn Staters that hail from Pennsylvania.
