BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Penn State women’s cross country team ran to a third-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships while the men’s team came in fourth in the region, hosted by Lehigh at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
This is now the third season in a row that both Nittany Lion programs finished top five in the region. PSU collected eight All-Region runners, getting four from each team to improve upon the seven they earned a season ago.
WOMEN’S 6K RACE
The No. 10 Penn State women finished third overall at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships behind another top-five performance from Florence Caron. The senior led Penn State through the line in 19:35.7, her fastest time in competition this fall. The next five Nittany Lions all had notable performances as well, with each running a personal best.
Ada Rand came in second (9th overall) for PSU with a time of 19:48.1 while Claire Daniels followed behind her in 14thoverall with a time of 19:54.7. Both runners went under the 20-minute mark for the first time ever. Lea Hatcher (23rd, 20:07.6), Allison Dougherty (26th, 20:12.6), and Claire Zubey (27th, 20:20.9) all ran PR’s as well. The top four finishers, Caron, Rand, Daniels, and Hatcher, each earned All-
No. 7 West Virginia took first place in the race with 56 points, followed by No. 12 Georgetown with 62 points. The No. 10 Nittany Lions rounded out the top three with 76 points.

MEN’S 10K RACE
The men’s squad had a strong showing finishing fourth, improving upon their fifth place finish a season ago. The men were led Nick Sloff with a top ten finish and a new personal best, running a 29:37.0. With Sloff's sixth place finish, he finds himself with a berth to the NCAA Finals next weekend at Mizzou, the first time he's qualified in his career.
Brian DiCola came next for PSU at 13th overall with a 30:13.0. Brendan Flynn (16th, 30:14.9 PR) and Jaxon Schoedel (21st, 30:21.0 PR) rounded out Penn State’s All-Region runners. Ryan Watson came next running a 30:42.7 to finish 35th overall. Logan Strawser (36th, 30:42.8) and Justin Healey (72nd, 31:27.3) each ran personal bests from the back for the Nittany Lions.
PSU placed four runners in the top 25 to be named All-Region, doubling their total from a season ago. Brian DiCola earned the award for the third year in a row while Nick Sloff, Brendan Flynn, and Jaxon Schoedel each received it for the first time in their Penn State careers.
No. 18 Princeton took the team title with 45 points, followed by Georgetown with 63 points. Villanova rounded out the top three with 84 points, just seven points ahead the Nittany Lions.
