Penn State will open the season with a home doubleheader on January 18 against Villanova and Saint Francis. The Nittany Lions swept both squads a season ago by 7-0 margins.
The following weekend, Penn State will take part in the 18th annual ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Nittany Lions will head to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for the regional hosted by the University of North Carolina. On January 23, the Blue & White will take on Charlotte before facing North Carolina or Columbia on January 25.
Penn State will wrap up a three-match road stretch when the team takes on Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia on February 1. The Nittany Lions earned a dramatic 4-3 win against the Monarchs at home last season. ODU went on to win the Sun Belt and qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
Penn State will spend the next month at home. On February 8, the team will welcome Mercyhurst and Mount St. Mary’s for another doubleheader. The next week, the Nittany Lions will host Ohio State for their Big Ten opener as part of their third and final doubleheader of the spring. St. Bonaventure will be the second match on February 15.
PSU will play host to two more Sun Belt foes in James Madison and Marshall on February 20 and February 22, respectively. The Nittany Lions will close nonconference play with two Ivy League programs coming to University Park. Penn State will battle Princeton on February 28 and Yale on March 1.
The Nittany Lions will wrap up a 10-match homestand by welcoming Michigan State on March 6 and Michigan on March 8 for the team’s first full weekend of Big Ten competition. The following weekend, the squad will head to Los Angeles for matchups with USC on March 14 and UCLA the next day. After an off weekend, Penn State will have a brief return home for meetings with Maryland on March 27 and Rutgers on March 29.
The Blue & White begin April with four consecutive road matches. On April 3, the Nittany Lions will take on Iowa and then head west for a contest against Nebraska on April 5. Penn State will head to Indiana for a battle with the Hoosiers on April 11 before closing the road trip at Purdue on April 12.
The Nittany Lions are set to close the regular season at home when they host Washington on April 17 and Oregon on April 19 for Senior Day. The Big Ten Tournament will be hosted by Ohio State at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center in Columbus, Ohio, and run from April 23-26.
