UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State swimming and diving is set to compete in its final two dual meets of the season, against West Virginia and George Washington.
The West Virginia meet will take place on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Peak Health Aquatic Center in Morgantown, W.V. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
The Nittany Lions will then return home for their final dual meet this season, a home matchup at McCoy Natatorium against George Washington. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m on Saturday.
Against George Washington, the Nittany Lions are hosting their White Out as fans are encouraged to wear white. It's also 800 Strong day, encouraging support from fellow Penn State athletes.
The GW meet will be livestreamed on B1G+.
Fans attending the GW meet are encouraged to park at the East Deck. Due to numerous Penn State athletics events, fans should be aware of increased traffic and plan accordingly.
Men:
The men are coming off a hard-fought loss against Princeton, where Cooper Morley led the way with two wins in the 100 and 200 back, where he swam a 46.60 and 1:43.97, respectively. Mariano Lazzerini added to the effort with a win in the 200 breast, swimming a 1:53.60.
Other strong performances against the Tigers were Rylan Aneselm, who took second in the 50 free (19.97) and third in the 1000 free (9:07.80), and Eduardo Cisternas, who took second place in the 500 free with a 4:23.09 swim, and a third-place finish in the 200 free, posting a 1:36.56 time. Hayden Elliott took two podium spots in the 1 and 3-meter diving events, posting a score 333.98 in the 1-meter for a second-place finish, and a 3-meter finish of 336.3, good for third place.
Women:
The women also recently fell to Princeton. Margaret Markvardt and Morgan Moore led the effort, with Markvardt posting two victories in the 100 fly (52.68) and 200 IM (1:58.28), and Moore earning a win in the 1000 free with a 9:47.90 swim. Moore also added on a second-place finish in the 500 free, swimming a 4:50.48.
On the diving side, Grace Brammer took home first-place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 319.13, and added a third-place finish in the 1-meter dive, posting a 275.38.
Other strong performers include Audrey Cohen, who posted two second-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breast, swimming a 1:02.59 and 2:15.48, respectively. Catherine Meisner added a second-place finish in the 200 free, swimming a 1:47.80.
