Women's Golf Heads West to Arizona For Westbrook Invitational

PEORIA, Ariz.  – The Penn State women's golf team makes a trip out west to Arizona and the Westbrook Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin this weekend.

The Nittany Lions are making their third appearance in the event over the past four seasons having competed in the event for the first time in 2023 before finishing sixth in the event last February registering their best finish relative to par of the season at 7-under, 857, its best finish in three years and the third-lowest 54-hole score relative to par all-time.

The tournament is held at the Westbrook Village Golf Club’s Vistas Course with 36 continuous holes of play on Sunday followed by a single round on Monday. Both days will feature an 8:30 a.m. MT shotgun start.

Live scoring for the duration of the tournament will be available HERE.

The classic par-72, 6,293-yard course has everything you could ever want in a golf course from desert transition areas, guarded greens, water shots to its risk reward drivable par 4.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Penn State began the spring season the same way they concluded the fall with their fourth-straight top-5 finish concluding the UCF Challenge in fifth place out of 16 teams at 5-under. The 5-under finish is the best score relative to par for the Nittany Lions this season and the lowest 54-hole total since last year’s Westbrook Invitational.
  • The Nittany Lions had four players record top-20 scores for the week led by Jiratchaya Jiratthitinun at 4-under and in tie for 13th. Her score of 4-under is her lowest score relative to par this season.
  • Sophomore Hannah Rabb secured her lowest finish relative to par this season with a 2-under, 214, highlighted by back-to-back red figure rounds to close out the week. Rabb concluded the week in 16th position, her third-straight top-20 finish.
  • Freshman Lillian Guleserian and senior Myranda Quinton each finished the week tied for 17th at even-par. Guleserian fired back-to-back 1-under rounds to close the week while Quinton, playing as an individual, fired a final round 1-under, 71, of her own. The top-20 finish marks the first for Quinton as the T-17 finish is the best of her career.
