ROSEMONT, Ill.- Penn State women’s basketball’s Kiyomi McMiller was named to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll as announced by the conference on Monday, Feb. 23. This marks her second-straight weekly conference nod after earning a spot on the list last week.
McMiller secures the award after another standout week on the court. The sophomore guard matched her career high 37 points while compiling her fifth-straight 30-point scoring performance in Penn State’s win over Rutgers on Saturday. McMiller becomes the first NCAA division I women’s basketball player to produce five consecutive 30-plus-point outings since 2024 Naismith Player of the Year Caitlyn Clark (six) did so in the 2023-24 season. Not only did the Silver Spring, Md. native put up tall numbers in the scoring category, but she produced a team-best eight assists in addition to five steals, four rebounds and two blocks.
The dynamic guard has recorded double figure scoring in 26-of-27 contests so far this season including 15, 20-plus-point performances and six, 30-plus-point outings. She has led the team (or tied for the team lead) in assists in 19 games. McMiller recorded a career best 37 points on a personal high 16 field goals against no. 12/13 Michigan State on Feb. 7 and matched her own scoring number against Rutgers on Feb. 21. She is on track to move up in the Penn State history book in total points scored in a sophomore campaign, where she currently ranks fifth. McMiller also moved into the sole second spot in Lady Lion history in career 30-point games with nine.
