PEORIA, Ariz. – Freshman Audrey Lam paced Penn State with her lowest career score relative to par finishing the week 2-under, 214, and in a tie for 31st in the 84-player field at the Westbrook Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
The Nittany Lions finished the week 12th in the 15-team field at 9-over, 873, with Monday’s final round serving as their best of the week with a 2-under, 286, score.
Missouri finished two strokes clear of Arizona at 37-under to secure the championship while Kansas State (27-under), Nebraska (26-under) and Kansas (24-under) rounded out the top-five.
Lam used her lowest round of the year on Monday to climb the leaderboard as she fired a 5-under, 67, backed by six birdies to one bogey. Lam went 5-under on her final 10 holes alone going bogey-free down the stretch. Lam had 11 birdies on the week to lead the team.
“Audrey was awesome today,” commented head coach Kristen Simpson. “She started sinking her putts and really taking advantage of her incredible iron play displayed all week, that was the biggest difference for her over the two days.”
Sophomore Hannah Rabb mixed an even par round between a 74 and 73 finishing the week 3-over, 219, and in a tie for 50th. Rabb played the back nine of the course bogey-free with four birdies over the final two rounds.
Sophomore Jiratchaya Jiratthitinun and freshman Lillian Guleserian carded matching 4-under’s to tie for 54th while senior Myranda Quinton rounded out the team scoring at 21-over for the week.
Playing as an individual and for the first time in over a year, sophomore Zeynep Sualp went 11-over for the week finishing strong with a 1-over, 73, on Monday.
