UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Football has named Kashif Moore its new wide receivers coach. Moore spent the last three seasons at UConn, where he helped develop Biletnikoff Award finalist Skyler Bell into a 2025 consensus All-American.
Moore is a native of New Jersey and has spent the majority of his coaching career in Northeast region. He was a team captain as a player for UConn and signed on as an undrafted free agent in the NFL in 2012.
COACHING ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Kashif Moore joins the Nittany Lions following a three-year stint as the wide receivers coach at UConn.
- Moore’s three years in Storrs was highlighted by the development of Skyler Bell, who was a 2025 Biletnikoff Award finalist after finishing second in the country in receiving yardage (1,278), tied for third in receiving touchdowns (13) and fourth in receptions (101).
- Bell, UConn’s first-ever consensus All-American, finished 2025 tied for first nationally in 80+ yard receiving plays (2) and tied for fourth in 70+ receiving plays (3).
- In 2024, a pair of UConn wideouts pulled down 50-plus passes under Moore’s guidance. TJ Sheffield caught 54 passes for 505 yards while Bell grabbed 54 balls for 860 yards and 5 touchdowns to lead the team. Sheffield went on to sign a rookie contract with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans after the season.
- A former UConn player, Moore joined his alma mater after spending the 2022 season at Albany as the wide receivers coach.
- After completing his playing career at UConn, he began his coaching career at Conard High School under his former position coach at UConn, Matt Cersosimo, spending the 2019-20 seasons at the prep ranks.
- He would have one-year stops at Wesleyan University (2020) and Cornell University (2021) as the running backs coach.
PLAYING CAREER
- A four-year letterwinner at UConn from 2008-11, Moore was elected team captain as a senior and graduated ranked in the top 10 in program history in receptions (126) while registering 1,699 career yards and 13 touchdowns.
- He competed in three postseason games, including catching four passes for 62 yards against Oklahoma in the 2011 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl - the program's first-ever BCS Bowl game.
- He was invited to the 2011 NFL Combine and later signed contracts with Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and Kansas City.

- A native of Burlington, N.J., Moore graduated from UConn in 2011, where he earned his degree in economics.
- Moore and his wife, Tania, have two daughters, Kennedy and Sienna.
