No. 61 Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 26 Yale 0-7

The Nittany Lions are now 10-3 for the season

NEW HAVEN, Conn.- The No. 61 Penn State men’s tennis team dropped its match against No. 26 Yale 0-7 on Saturday. The Nittany Lions are now 10-3 for the season. 

 

 

Doubles 

 

David Lindsay and Michael Wright were defeated by the No. 88 doubles team of Vignesh Gogineni and Edward Liao, 3-6. 

Kyle Chesman and Marcus Schoeman were taken down by Jason Shuler and Dylan Tsoi, 2-6. 

Reiya Hattori and Eyal Shyovitz kept their match against Eric Li and Ethan Chung at 4-4 until it was abandoned since Yale had already secured the doubles point. 

 

 

Singles 

 

Zhengqing Ji defeated Lindsay on court four 6-1, 6-4. 

Liao took down Schoeman on court two, winning 6-2, 6-2. 

No. 35 Gogineni won against Wright on court one, 7-5, 6-2. 

Shyovitz fell to Li on court five, 3-6, 2-6. 

Hattori put up a fight against Shuler, but ultimately fell 6-1, 1-6, 5-7. 

Chesman was taken down by Tsoi on court six, 7-5, 5-7, 3-10. 

 

 

UP NEXT 

 

The Nittany Lions return home to begin Big Ten play against No. 1 Ohio State at noon on Saturday, March 7. The team then faces non-conference opponent Lehigh at 5 p.m.
