UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s hockey team announced the debut of its newest Wear White uniform ahead of its regular-season finale against No. 11 Wisconsin on Friday evening.
The sweater is a modern reinterpretation of one of the program’s most popular alternate looks. Designed to honor tradition while pushing forward with a clean, contemporary aesthetic, the new uniform will take the ice this evening as part of the annual Wear White Game.
The centerpiece of the jersey is a whited-out circular Penn State crest on the chest, offering a fresh take on a fan-favorite design. Two horizontal gray stripes run across the torso and sleeves, echoing the silhouette of the original gray alternate jersey, worn for four seasons from 2013-2017, and reinforcing the uniform’s strong visual identity.
Subtle details elevate the look throughout. Gray sleeve and back numbers outlined in navy, along with navy block lettering on gray nameplates, provide crisp contrast while staying true to Penn State’s classic white-and-navy palette.
A white collar with a thin navy stripe and diamond-inspired “hanger effect” adds a nod to Penn State football’s throwback end zone designs of the past, tying together tradition across athletic programs. A diamond shaped PSU logo is represented on each shoulder paying homage to the logo featured on the pants of club programs of the past.
The uniform is paired with gray pants featuring the same diamond-inspired side striping complete with the traditional Penn State Lionhead logo.
White gloves with gray cuff rolls, and the traditional white helmet with a navy stripe complete a cohesive and polished game-day look. Matching socks with horizontal gray striping bring continuity from head to toe.
Overall, the 2026 Wear White uniform emphasizes a modern, uncluttered design with balanced use of gray to add depth without overpowering Penn State’s identity. Select navy detailing features a glossy “Framis” application, designed to catch the light and enhance the uniform’s on-ice presence.
Following the game, the game-worn jerseys along with additional items will be auctioned, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting THON, reinforcing the program’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond the rink.
