No. 16 Penn State Records 14th Consecutive 196.000, Places Third in Ohio State Quad

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No.16 Penn State Nittany Lions placed third in the Ohio State Quad with the team’s 14th consecutive 196.000 team score or higher on Sunday afternoon in the Covelli Center. Ohio State took first with a 197.150 followed by NC State with a 196.625. Penn State was behind the Wolfpack with a 196.550 and Eastern Michigan fell in last with a 194.725.

Sophomore Dani Latronica showed off her dominance as a gymnast yet again with another pair of 9.900s on bars and beam. Freshman Ava Cash also put up a 9.900 on her bars routine, the freshman’s fourth of the 2026 campaign. Senior AAI nominee Ava Piedrahita put on a show on vault, securing a 9.900 on her specialty.

FLOOR (49.225)

The Blue and White had a strong start to the quad meet on the floor. Leary started the Nittany Lions on the exercise with a 9.850 while Monahan was not far behind her and tallied a 9.825. McElligott started out the second half of the rotation with a 9.825 before Johanson one-upped her by tying the then-team-high 9.850. Kramer, the anchor of the Penn State rotation, secured the best score on the floor for the Nittany Lions with a 9.875.

VAULT (49.000)

Leary again started Penn State off, this time on vault. The sophomore phenom notched a 9.700 with another sophomore star, Latronica, adding a 9.775 to the Nittany Lion score. The freshman star, Cash, tied her career-high with another 9.850, her fourth such effort this year. Johanson secured a 9.775 while Ava Piedrahita put up a 9.900 score, the highest of the meet at that point. Her 9.900 was the third time this season she scored at or above 9.900.

BARS (49.300)

Johanson put up another great effort to lead the Penn State bar routine, notching a 9.825 for the Blue and White. Monahan and Leary were able to add a similar efforts to secure the Nittany Lions back-to-back-to-back 9.825s. Piedrahita was able to break through the 9.825 barrier with a 9.850. Cash and Latronica were able to put together back-to-back stellar efforts to close out the Penn State bars routine with 9.900s from the pair.

BEAM (49.050)

Monahan started out the Penn State beam routine with a solid 9.750 on the apparatus. Maul followed up the sophomore with a 9.800 with Leary alongside her with a 9.800 of her own. McElligott and Kramer put up a 9.725 and 9.775, respectively, while Latronica showed off her dominance on the beam yet again. The sophomore recorded a 9.900, her sixth consecutive 9.900 or higher.
