UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State track & field turned in a solid showing in the first day of the Virginia Challenge Thursday. Both the men’s and women’s javelin events ended with a Nittany Lion in the top three.
Audrey Friedman improved her own 10th-best mark in program history, posting a 163-9.00 (49.93m) and taking third in the women’s event.
Freshman Nolan Carey earned a second-place finish in the men’s javelin with his 220-3.00 (67.14m), a personal best.
