Wright Adds Cadet as Assistant Coach and Video Coordinator

Cadet joins Wright’s staff ahead of the 2026-27 campaign

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Lady Lion head coach Tanisha Wright adds Olivier Cadet to staff as an Assistant Coach and Video Coordinator. Cadet arrives in Happy Valley with several years of college basketball experience in his toolbox including three trips to the NCAA Tournament. Most recently, he served as an Assistant Coach and Director of Skill Development at the University of Georgia.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Coach O join our staff,” said Wright. “His knowledge of the game combined with his ability to develop players and skillfulness with video technology will be a huge asset to the Lady Lion basketball program and I’m eager for us to get to work”.Cadet spent four seasons in Athens, Ga. where he was impactful on the court, but also off the court for the Bulldogs. In addition to his on-court leadership in practices and individual sessions, Cadet led the video analytics for opponent scouting. Throughout his time at Georgia, the Broward Country Florida native mentored three All-SEC selections including Dani Carnegie, Javyn Nicholson and Diamond Battles, and coached Trinity Turner and Mia Woolfolk who earned spots on the SEC All-Freshman squads.

Most recently, Cadet was instrumental in an NCAA Tournament run for the Bulldogs in 2025-26. The team garnered the no. 7 seed in the Iowa City, Iowa Regional, making their 37th appearance in the national tournament which is tied for third-most among all NCAA Division I women’s basketball programs.

Professional basketball experience is also in his tool kit, with a summer internship as an NBA Player Development intern in 2023 on his resume. In his time in New York City, Cadet assisted Chris Brickley, a well-known trainer to those in the professional basketball world. He aided Brickley with on-court workouts for NBA stars such as Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell and Paolo Banchero. Off the court, Cadet helped with film and supported the execution of brand activations. In addition, the South Florida native was invited to the NBPA Sanctury in Spain to assist Miami Heat’s Davion Mitchell to train and develop other NBA athletes in the summer of 2025.

Cadet earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida, during which time, he acted as the head manager for the women’s basketball program from 2019-22. First serving as a practice player, he assisted coaches with player development on and off the court. During his time with the Knights, Cadet served on staff during the 2021-22 run when the Knights captured the American Atlantic Conference regular season title and tournament championships and earned their highest-ever NCAA Tournament seeding. He helped develop Battles to a first team All-AAC selection as well as Brittney Smith who was named the Sixth Woman of the Year in 2021-22.

Cadet spent two seasons volunteering for the Atlanta Dream from 2022-24 where he met Wright.

Additionally, Cadet worked for Synergy Sports Technology as a production assistant specializing in on demand video support for the purpose of scouting across the country.

Cadet graduated with his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Central Florida in 2022 and with his master's degree in kinesiology at Georgia in 2024.
