UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State track & field wrapped up the Florida Relays with a record-setting second day in Gainesville, Florida.
Ajani Dwyer shattered the program record in the men’s 100-meter dash, running a 10.06 to capture the event. His time breaks the previous record of 10.10, set in 2024 by Cheickna Traore.
In the women’s 100-meter dash, Marie-Éloïse LeClair delivered another good performance, finishing at 11.56. Her time moves her into a tie for fourth in program history, sharing the time with Kamilah Salaam.
EVENT SUMMARY
The day began with the men’s shot put collegiate competition, where freshman Bryce Thompson turned in an impressive performance. Thompson’s 60-3.00 (18.36m) earned him second place.
Two Penn State athletes competing in the men’s shot put invite rewrote the all-time top 10 lists. Ryan Henry surged into the eighth-best mark in program history with a 62-1.00 (18.92m), while Dylan Lambrecht moved into 10th-best at 61-10.25 (18.85m).
Staying in the shot put, a pair of Nittany Lions earned top-10 places in the women’s invite. Sasha Garnett came in fifth with a 52-10.00 (16.10m), while Skye Petrie-Cameron earned 10th at 49-1.50 (14.97m).
Moving to the track, Tayissa Buchanan clocked a 2:04.37 in the women’s 800-meter run. Her time edged out Tammie Hart by 0.01 seconds for the sixth-fastest time in program history. Buchanan’s teammate Allison Johnson also impressed in the event, running a 2:05.29.
Four Penn State athletes earned top 10 finishes in the men’s 800-meter run. Yukichi Ishii paced the quartet at 1:46.91, finishing in fifth. Andrew Regnier, Kaleb Nastari and Niko Schultz claimed eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.
The men’s 400-meter dash saw Jake Palermo improve his own third-best time in program history, finishing at 45.29, while Peyton Sommers ran a 47.54. In the men’s high jump, Trip Campbell took fourth in the men’s high jump at 6-8.25 (2.04m).

The blue and white venture to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania to compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell University. The two-day meet begins Saturday, April 11 and concludes Sunday, April 12.
