UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State women’s basketball head coach Tanisha Wright picks up Devyn Quigley in the transfer portal ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Quigley becomes Wright’s second portal pickup of the offseason. The junior transfer arrives in Happy Valley after two seasons spent at NC State.
“Adding Devyn to our team is a big step forward for the Lady Lion program,” said Wright. “Devyn is poised to make an immediate impact from day one. To say we’re thrilled would be an understatement.”
The dynamic guard spent her first to collegiate seasons at NC State during which time she helped the Wolfpack to back-to-back trips to the Big Dance including a Sweet 16 run in 2025. As a sophomore, Quigley played in 29 games making six starts while averaging 4.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. The Manchester, N.J. native logged three double figure scoring performances including a career high 14 points on five-of-eight shooting from the floor against Wake Forest. Quigley finished her second collegiate campaign with an 11-point and four rebound performance amidst a career-high 30 minutes played against two-seeded Michigan in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32.
Quigley registered an impressive rookie season, playing in 33 games and averaging 8.3 minutes per contest for NC State. She contributed 8.3 points per game on 40.3% shooting from the field along with 1.3 rebounds per game. The junior transfer produced a career high 20 points off the bench against Coastal Carolina on eight-of-13 shooting from the field including four-of-seven from three-point range. Quigley produced a spark off the bench in the Wolfpack’s NCAA Tournament First Round contest, logging four points, three rebounds and one steal. To follow that, she finished with three points against Michigan State in the Round of 32 while helping her squad advance to the Sweet 16.
Prior to the start of her collegiate career, Quigley was ranked as the no. 47 player at the time of her signing according to the 2024 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings and was given an ESPN scouts grade of 94 as a four-star recruit. She attended Manchester Township where she shattered the Shore Conference girls basketball record in career scoring, tallying 2,627 points. The New Jersey native broke out in her junior and senior seasons, during which time she combined for 1,925 points. Quigley averaged 32.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.9 steals as a senior after an impactful junior campaign averaging 34.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.8 steals per contest. She was a three-time Shore Sports Network Player of the year and earned multiple All-State honors. In addition, Quigley was named a McDonald’s All-America Game nominee.
