Penn State Athletics and adidas have officially begun a transformational 10-year partnership, with adidas becoming the Nittany Lions’ official footwear, uniform, apparel and sideline partner effective July 1. 

The partnership unites two iconic brands, bringing together the Nittany Lions’ storied legacy of 85 national championships and 335 conference championships with adidas’ industry-leading innovation and vision. The launch of the union signals the start of a bold new chapter for Penn State Athletics — one rooted in tradition, driven by innovation and focused on empowering student-athletes while delivering memorable experiences for Nittany Lion fans around the world and expanding the reach of the Penn State brand. Throughout the partnership, Penn State and adidas will collaboratively prioritize high-impact NIL agreements and brand marketing campaigns for Penn State student-athletes across the university’s 31 sports.

Penn State Championship Trophy Celebration Opens in a new window

The launch of this partnership brings together the Nittany Lions’ storied championship legacy with adidas’ industry-leading innovation and vision. As the partnership begins, fans will also have the opportunity to celebrate the championship moments that help define Penn State with a championship trophy celebration at the adidas Pop-Up Shop at Pegula Ice Arena from July 10-12. Nittany Nation can snap a photo and relive unforgettable victories with the 1982 and 1986 football national championship trophies, as well as trophies from Penn State’s 2025-26 championships.

Limited-Edition Creamery Flavor Opens in a new window

The Penn State Berkey Creamery will also join the July festivities with a limited-time flavor in honor of the Penn State and adidas partnership launch. The limited-edition flavor will be available at the Berkey Creamery throughout the month of July, as well as at the adidas Pop-Up Shop at Pegula on select dates.

GEAR UP FOR GLORY

The power of the 800,000 living Penn State alumni combined with adidas’ commitment to dynamic retail and fan engagement have inspired the creation of a broad collection of Penn State fan apparel and footwear. 

The initial drop of the new collection of officially licensed adidas and Penn State gear is available via adidas, Fanatics (beginning at 8:30 a.m. on July 1), local retailers and online retail partners.

The Penn State and adidas union creates a commitment to elevating the student-athlete experience, enhancing fan engagement and expanding the reach of the Penn State brand. 

These two global brands are joining forces to shape the future of college athletics, working in tandem to provide student-athletes top-of-the-line product and marketing opportunities that meaningfully drive superior performance and championships. The championship potential only grows by pairing Penn State student-athletes with adidas’ best-in-class performance gear and innovative technology. 

Though this is a new relationship, adidas already has Blue & White in its DNA with its ongoing partnerships with NFL stars and Nittany Lion football alumni Micah Parsons and Abdul Carter, Penn State soccer alum Ali Krieger, a two-time Women’s World Cup champion and standout defender for the U.S. Women’s National Team and former Penn State Women’s Volleyball standout and two-time national champion setter, Micha Hancock. 

Penn State and adidas have already begun prioritizing high-impact NIL agreements and brand marketing campaigns for student-athletes across all 31 sports. Nittany Lion student-athletes are eligible to participate in adidas’ wide-ranging NIL Ambassador Network, which gives all student-athletes at adidas-partnered Division I schools the chance to benefit from their Name, Image and Likeness.
