UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach Jennifer Green announced on Monday the additions of Sharon Kelly and Tim Levandowski to her inaugural staff at Penn State. Kelly joins the Nittany Lions as the associate head coach while Levandowski joins as an assistant coach.
“Penn State has a wonderful heritage of distinction, and it is a tremendous honor to join the Nittany Lion family as associate head coach,” said Kelly. “I am thrilled to continue to partner with Coach Green; her vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the holistic development of our student-athletes makes this an incredible opportunity. We are ready to build a culture of excellence her in Happy Valley.”
“I am incredibly excited to welcome Sharon to Penn State Gymnastics,” said Green on Kelly. “Having coached alongside her at Air Force, I know firsthand the standard of leadership, expertise, and care she brings to the sport. She possesses a tremendous depth of knowledge, passion, and genuine dedication to the student-athlete experience, and I’ve always admired how deeply she invests in her athletes. Having the opportunity to work together again is a true privilege. Sharon is someone I trust and respect immensely, and I know she will make a profound impact on our program as we continue building something special here. Welcome to the family, Sharon!”
Kelly comes to Penn State after a year-long stint with Air Force along with Green for one of the most successful campaigns in program history. Under the pair’s tutelage, Air Force finished the season ranked 36th in the country, the third-highest finish in program history and the highest end-of-season mark since 2002, as the Falcons qualified for NCAA Regionals for the first time since the 2002 season. During her year at Air Force, Kelly helped the Falcons garner 46 total Mountain West Conference weekly awards in 2026 with 10 All-Conference honors. Thanks to her efforts in Colorado Springs, Kelly was nominated alongside Green for College Gym News’ Coaching Staff of the Year. Prior to becoming the associate head coach with the Falcons, Kelly served as a consulting coach for Green and Air Force Gymnastics by providing external guidance in fine-tuning both coaches’ and gymnasts’ approach to competition.
Kelly has an ocean of experience in gymnastics thanks to her decades in the sport. She served as Education Chairman for Georgia USA Gymnastics and was acting Event Director for the Georgia National Association of Women’s Gymnastics Judges. In 2005, Kelly founded Ultimate Gymnastics, a Level 10/Elite developmental program in Duluth, Georgia and has since become a launching point for an abundance of future NCAA and Junior Olympic gymnasts.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Jenn for this opportunity and for welcoming me into the Penn State family as we begin this new chapter together,” said Levandowski. “I’m so excited to be working alongside this incredible staff and administration who invest fully in our student-athletes, as we continue to build upon our standard of excellence in all aspects of their lives. There’s something truly unique about the people and community that makes Penn State what it is, and I’m honored to now be a part of it. I know We Are building something very special here, and I’m excited to help lay the foundation for what’s ahead.”
“I am thrilled to welcome Tim to Penn State Gymnastics. He brings an incredible wave of energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to the sport. During his time at Kent State, he proved to be a driven professional who is constantly eager to learn, grow, and elevate everyone around him. His work ethic and positive energy are truly contagious, and I know our student-athletes are going to thrive on that dynamic. I’m excited to watch Tim continue to evolve as a coach while introducing his unique personality and perspective to our program. He is going to be a perfect fit for our culture, and I couldn't be happier to have him on board.”
Levandowski heads to Happy Valley after stints at Kent State and Brown. With the Golden Flashes, he helped lead the team to win the 2025 MAC Regular Season Championship with a 6-0 record in regular season conference meets. Under his tutelage, Kent State had three individuals qualify for the 2025 State College Regional and secured a quintuplet oof All-MAC selections. During his year with Brown Gymnastics, Levandowski served as an assistant coach and coached Asta Farrell and Maya Davis. During the trio’s time together, Farrell earned First Team USAG All-America and Second Team All-GEC honors on bars, while Davis earned Second Team USAG All-America accolades.
Prior to his time with the two programs, Levandowski compiled experience from the club level, primarily throughout Minnesota, and cut his teeth in the collegiate ranks as an assistant coach with Division III Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
