AS A JUNIOR IN 2011: Had arguably the finest start to a career in Penn State history after going 5-0 with a 1.71 ERA during his first six outings with the Nittany Lions ... Opened the year with a victory in each of his first three appearances ... Earned his first win after firing 1.1 innings of shutout relief against West Virginia in his debut on Feb. 19 ... Struck out five and allowed just two hits during a spectacular 4.1-inning effort against Eastern Kentucky on Feb. 26 ... Continued his run with a win over N.C. State after striking out one in 1.2 innings of relief against the ACC power on March 4 ... Earned his first start of the season against Old Dominion on March 8, tossing three shutout innings with five strikeouts ...
