vs. Monmouth (2/15, 17): Factored in two of three wins for Penn State in the opening weekend...Allowed just one hit and an unearned run over six relief innings...Entered the season opener with no score (0-0) in the sixth inning and worked around a pair of errors in an otherwise perfect effort, allowing the Nittany Lions to walk off in the bottom of the ninth...Earned first career win...Earned a two-inning save in the series finale, striking out two and allowing just an unearned run. vs. Fairfield (2/24): Kept Penn State in contention in an eventual 11-inning game, pitching a career-high 4.2 innings and striking out a career-high five, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits with no walks. vs. No. 21 Duke (3/2): Matched career highs of 4.2 innings and five strikeouts, earning the win after limiting Duke to one run on four hits and a walk. at UCF (3/8, 10): Factored in both of Penn State’s wins...Saved series-opening win with three scoreless, one-hit innings...Earned win in series finale, holding UCF to one run on three hits over 2.2 innings. UMass Lowell (3/15, 17): Earned save in opener, finishing the game with two scoreless innings, striking out two...Earned win in relief in finale, pitching 2.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. at Purdue (3/29, 31): Pitched 5.2 scoreless innings over two games, allowing just four hits and two walks and striking out two. at Indiana (4/5): Completed second combined shutout of the year, striking out three and only yielding a hit batter in the final 2.2 innings for fourth save. Nebraska (4/12): Came in for four innings of relief, striking out five and only gave up two hits and an earned run. Lafayette (4/24): Completed 2.0 innings for the save allowing zero walks and no runs with three strikeouts. Maryland (4/27, G2): Earned win in relief, striking out three over 3.2 innings. Rutgers (5/4, G1): Did not allow a run over the final three innings, striking out three and allowing just two hits in an 11th-inning win.
2018 (FRESHMAN)
Season: Led the team with four saves and 24 appearances...Posted a 3.18 ERA and 0-1 record...Struck out 28 over 34 innings...Did not allow a run in May, working 5.1 innings over five appearances and yielding just three hits and two walks while striking out five and earning a save.
at Elon (2/17): Made collegiate debut and earned the save in an 8-6 victory by pitching a hitless and scoreless inning with one strikeout. vs. Monmouth (2/24): Pitched two innings in relief, striking out four and allowing one earned run on one hit and one walk. at UCSB (3/4-5): Made appearances on back-to-back days...Allowed a run in one inning of work in first appearance (3/4)...Earned a save in series finale, holding the Gauchos scoreless over the final 2.2 innings...Struck out one and worked around three hits and two walks. at GCU (3/9-10): Pitched a total of 4.1 scoreless innings in two relief appearances, yielding only two hits and one walk with four strikeouts. NJIT (3/17, G1): Pitched two scoreless innings to earn third save of the season. at Rutgers (3/23,25): Made appearances in the series opener and finale, pitching an inning each...Yielded just one hit in the opener...Struck out one and yielded one run on two hits in the finale. Purdue (3/31, G1): Pitched two scoreless innings in relief yielding one hit and one walk while striking out three. Ohio State (4/13-14): Pitched a total of three innings in the series, including a big final out in the series opener. Mount St. Mary’s (4/18): Struck out one in a perfect inning to finish off the win. at Michigan (4/21): Pitched 3.1 innings in relief allowing, no earned runs in a tie game that went into extra innings. Michigan State (5/5): Struck out two and walked one to finish out the win. at Pittsburgh (5/8): Struck out one in a perfect inning. Xavier (5/10): Earned fourth save of the season, striking out one and allowing just one hit. at Iowa (5/17, 19): Worked 1.1 scoreless innings over two appearances, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out one.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was a two-year letterwinner starting on the mound at State College Area High School for head coach Troy Allen...Helped lead team to the state semifinals as a senior and District 6 Championships as a sophomore and junior...Named the Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Spring after striking out 78 and winning five games with a 2.00 ERA as a senior...Named Mid-Penn All-Conference as a junior with a 1.50 ERA, 55 strikeouts and three wins...Played travel ball for the Keystone Railsplitters and was a Keystone State Games Silver Medalist as a freshman...Also earned two letters as a long snapper for the football team, winning a pair of district championships...Earned high honors all four years...Was one of two recipients of the Joseph R.
