Game-By-Game: vs. Northwestern (3/6): Threw a scoreless inning. at Michigan State (4/9): Recorded three strikeouts and allowed three hits in two scoreless frames. vs. Purdue (4/11): Threw one inning and struck out one. Nebraska (4/17): Registered four strikeouts in 1.1 innings. Michigan State (5/2): Had a scoreless outing over 1.1 innings. at Iowa (5/7): Threw two scoreless inning and struck out two. Rutgers (5/16): Pitched 1.2 innings and did not allow an earned run. at Illinois (5/22): Struck out two in one inning of work.

2020 (SOPHOMORE)
Awards: Selected Academic All-Big Ten.

Season: Went 1-0 over four appearances…Posted a 3.21 ERA and tallied 17 strikeouts over 14.0 innings…Season canceled on March 12 after 15 games due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Game-by-Game: vs. NJIT (2/15): Pitched 3.2 innings and struck out five. vs. Wagner (2/23): Struck out three in three scoreless innings. vs. Princeton (2/29, G2): Earned win, allowing just one run and striking out six over five innings.

2019 (FRESHMAN)
Season: Made the third most appearances on the team with 18...Held opponents scoreless in 12 out of 18 appearances...Struck out 21 in 19.1 innings pitched and went 0-1 with a 5.59 ERA.
 
Game-by-Game: vs. Monmouth (2/17): Made collegiate debut, pitching a third of an inning with a strikeout and allowing a hit, walk and run. vs. No. 21 Duke (3/3): Pitched a scoreless inning, allowing just a walk and hit and striking out one. at UCF (3/10): Finished off a win, getting the final two outs and striking out one, while allowing just one hit. Minnesota (3/24, G2): Pitched a perfect inning of relief. Bucknell (4/2): Struck out two and walked one in two innings. at Indiana (4/6, G2): Struck out two and walked one in 1.1 innings. at Illinois (4/21, 22): Appeared twice, striking out the lone batter he faced in the series’ second game and pitching a scoreless inning in the finale. Maryland (4/26): Perfect in an inning of work, striking out two. Arizona (5/16): Pitched a scoreless inning, walking one.

Was a four-year team member and three-year letterwinner playing at Downingtown East under head coach Pete Susi...2017 All Ches-Mont League honorable mention...Received 2018 Coach's Award for performance, sportsmanship and integrity...Ranked in Top 500 overall by Perfect Game and as the eighth-best left-handed pitcher in Pennsylvania...Perfect Game 2017 high honorable mention and 2016 honorable mention...Played travel ball for US Elite...Member of National Society of High School Scholars.

Son of Tom and Erin Gagnon...Has as sister, Sydney, who plays lacrosse at Virginia Tech...Had grandparents, great-grandfather and great-godparents that attended Penn State...Named after great grandfather, Robert R. Hutchison, who was president of Phi Gamma Delta at Penn State from 1938 to 1939...Hobbies include Jeeps and four-wheeling...Plans to major in business.
