Brennan Coakley is amongst several Nittany Lions that are working for opportunities to earn more time in the tight end rotation. Coakley is returning to the field after missing last season due to a serious knee injury. Last year, he served as an undergraduate assistant coach. Coakley has good size and work ethic and has worked hard in his rehabilitation. He was on schedule to graduate in August.

2008 Senior Season
Coakley suffered a serious knee injury during a practice prior to the 2007 Alamo Bowl and served as an undergraduate assistant coach during the season.
2007 Junior Season
Coakley continued to work hard and provide depth at tight end. He saw action against Florida International, Buffalo and Wisconsin. He torn the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his left knee during a practice prior to the Alamo Bowl against Texas A&M.
2006 Sophomore Season
Coakley returned to the field after suffering a knee injury during his true freshman campaign in 2005. He saw playing time against Northwestern and Temple and made good progress while providing depth at tight end.
2005 Freshman Season
Coakley suffered a serious knee injury in practice and was granted a medical redshirt season.
High School
Coakley played football and basketball at Newtown HS. In his senior season, he played tight end and defensive end for Coach Ken Roberts[apos] team. Coakley made 16 receptions and scored three touchdowns and made 40 tackles with four sacks. He transferred to Newtown from St. Joseph[apos]s HS prior to his senior season.

Full name is Brennan M. Coakley. He is a recreation, park and tourism management major and was on schedule to graduate in August 2009. He plans to begin work on a second degree, in crime, law and justice. Born July 16, 1987.
