Freshman Mike Vandegrift heads into his first year at Penn State looking to find success with Penn State[apos]s midfielders. Vandegrift brings healthy high school credentials with him and has the talent to fit into the Penn State mix in 2009.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Vandegrift earned all-league honors for three straight years and was an All-State pick in 2008. He was a two-time all-league pick at Penn Charter for two years and was an all-state selection at Abington High School as a senior. Vandegrift was also captain of Abington[apos]s soccer team and is the son of Ray and Kate Vandegrift. He is one of 11 Vandegrift children and plans on majoring in business.
COACHES VIEW:
