First year goalkeeper Steve Rastivo comes to Penn State with outstanding high school credentials and will look to take advantage of one year to learn from All-American goalie Drew Adams. Rastivo himself was a high school All-American at Ward Melville High School in New York.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
Rastivo was a high school All-American last year and earned all-league honors three straight years. He was a two-time All-Suffolk County pick and was a member of the Long Island Empire gold medal team. In 2008, he was an Under Armour All-American and was selected Most Valuable Player of the Under Armour All-American Game. Rastivo is the son of Russell and Cynthia Rastivo. He has a younger brother (Michael) and a younger sister (Alexandra). Rastivo plans on majoring in business or finance.
COACHES VIEW:
'Steven has a great future. We plan to red-shirt him this spring to learn from from Coach Guy and Drew. A year adjusting to college shooters is probably the best for all freshman goalies, so this spring should be very helpful to him.' - Coach Thiel
