2023 • SENIOR SEASON
Season: Played in 16 games, and started in 10...Finished with one goal, one assist, 48 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers...Scooped a game-high nine ground balls against Army in the NCAA Quarterfinals (5/21).

Lafayette (2/4): Picked up one ground ball. at Villanova (2/12): Finished with one goal, two ground balls and one caused turnover. Stony Brook (2/18): Scooped two ground balls and caused one turnover. at Yale (2/25): Finished with five ground balls and one caused turnover. Penn (3/4): Recorded three ground balls and caused one turnover. at Cornell (3/11): Scooped two ground balls and caused one turnover. vs. Marquette (3/18): Picked up one ground ball and caused one turnover. at Maryland (3/25): Scooped one ground ball. Ohio State (4/2): Finished with one assists and three ground balls pickups. Johns Hopkins (4/8): Scooped eight ground balls. Rutgers (4/21): Scooped two ground balls and caused one turnover. vs. Michigan (5/4): Picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers. Princeton (5/14): Picked up one ground ball. vs. Army (5/21): Scooped nine ground balls and caused one turnover. vs. Duke (5/27): Finished with five ground balls and one caused turnover. 


2022 • JUNIOR SEASON
Awards: Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten Team.

Season: Played all 14 games, including one as a starter...Finished with one goal, 24 ground balls and seven caused turnovers...Had multiple ground balls in eight games, including a season-high four at Bucknell (3/15).
 
Lafayette (2/5): Picked up one ground ball. Vermont (2/16): Picked up two ground balls. Yale (2/26): Contributed three ground balls and one caused turnover. vs. Penn (3/5): Picked up two ground balls. Cornell (3/12): Finished with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. at Bucknell (3/15): Picked up a season-high four ground balls and caused one turnover. Maryland (3/27): Caused one turnover. Michigan (4/8): Picked up three ground balls. at Johns Hopkins (4/16): Tallied two ground balls and two caused turnovers. at Rutgers (4/22): Scored first career goal and picked up one ground ball. at Johns Hopkins (4/30): Tallied three ground balls.

2021 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Awards: Earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten Team.

Season: Played all 11 games...Finished with one assist, 13 ground balls and eight caused turnovers...Ranked second on the team in caused turnovers...Picked up at least one ground ball in seven games, including a season-high three twice.
 
at Rutgers (2/20): Matched a season high with three ground balls. Maryland (2/26): Matched a season high with three ground balls and contributed one assist and two caused turnovers. Ohio State (3/6): Picked up one ground ball and caused two turnovers. at Michigan (3/20): Tallied one ground ball and one caused turnover. Johns Hopkins (3/28): Totaled two ground balls and one caused turnover. at Maryland (4/3): Picked up two ground balls and caused one turnover. Rutgers (4/10): Caused one turnover. Michigan (4/16): Picked up one ground ball. 

2020 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Season: Played in all seven games, including starts in the final two…Tallied one assist, nine ground balls and two caused turnovers…The 2020 season was canceled March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Lafayette (2/1): Made collegiate debut. Saint Joseph’s (2/15): Picked up three ground balls. Yale (2/22): Contributed one ground ball. at Penn (2/29): Tallied an assist, three ground balls and one caused turnover. at Furman (3/10): Picked up two ground balls and caused one turnover.
 
PRIOR TO PENN STATE
A four-year member of the Gonzaga College High School varsity lacrosse and football team, Sweeney helped guide his team to a 2016 WCAC championship, 2017 WCAC Runner-Up, and 2018 WCAC Championship… Earned third-team All-WCAC in 2017, second-team All-WCAC and second-team All-Met in 2018…Voted team captain for the 2018-2019 season… Five-Year member of the Annapolis Hawks club lacrosse team coached by Matt Hogan…Sweeney played in every high school game since his freshman year.
 
PERSONAL
Parents are Michael and Tracy Sweeney…Has a younger brother, Nick, and a younger sister, Maddie…Father played lacrosse at Salisbury University…Has been playing lacrosse since he was three years old…Majoring in finance.
