Peter Donley is set to begin his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Penn State men’s lacrosse team in 2021. Donley comes to State College after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Dickinson College.
Dickinson went 40-14 overall and 18-6 in the Centennial Conference in three seasons with Donley on the coaching staff. Highlighting that stretch was the 2018 season, which saw the Red Devils finish 17-4 overall, win the Centennial Conference Tournament title, and win two games in the NCAA Tournament on their way to the quarterfinal round.
Donley served as the recruiting coordinator and defensive/faceoff coordinator during his time at Dickinson. The Red Devils earned 16 USILA All-America honors during those three seasons. Donley was a USILA Assistant Coach of the Year nominee in 2018.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at Dickinson, Donley spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans went 24-12 during that stretch.
Donley earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Susquehanna University in 2014 and a master’s degree in kinesiology and recreation from Illinois State in 2016.
