2007-08: Jason[apos]s best performances came in the relays. He was part of the 400 freestyle relay that placed 16th at the NCAA Championships. He earned points in the Big Ten Championships by placing seventh in the 200 freestyle relay and third in the 400 freestyle relay. He added to his first place collection with three first place finishes in the 400 freestyle relay and one in the 200 freestyle relay. He also finished first in the 50-meter freestyle at the Princeton invitational.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Placed second in the 50 free and was on the winning 400 freestyle relay team at the quad meet...placed second in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays at the Hoosierland Open Invitational...won the 50 free at the Princeton Big Al Invitational.
2006-07: Jason peaked at the end of his sophomore year as he swam his career bests in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle at Big Ten Championships. He finished just one spot out of the scoring with a 17th place finish in the 100 free. He swam primarily in those three events during the season. His best finish of the year was a second place as part of a relay team and he also had a pair of fourth place finishes, also on relays. He ended the year with the fifth-fastest time on the team for the year in the 100 free.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Was a part of the fourth place 400 free relay team and the fifth place 400 medley relay team in the dual meet at West Virginia....Part of the sixth place 200 free and the seventh place 400 free relay teams at the Clemson/Virginia/Virginia Tech/Penn State quad-meet....On the fifth place 400 free and the eighth place 200 free relay teams at the Purdue Duals....Swam in the 50 and 100 free and the 100 fly and picked up points as part of the sixth place 400 free relay team at the Bell Grand Prix....Was on the second place 200 medley relay at the dual meet vs. Rutgers....Was on the fourth place 200 free relay team and finished in the top 16 in the 50, 100 and 200 free at the Shamrock Invitational....Finished 17th in the 100 free at Big Ten Championships.
2005-06: Jason swam in two main events as a freshman. He was a short distance freestyle specialist, swimming in the 50 and 100 freestyle events throughout the year as well as on the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and 200 and 400 medley relays. At the Big Ten Championships, he swam in the 50 and 100 freestyle and the 100 butterfly while setting his personal career best times in all three events. On the year, he was a part of one first place relay team and placed second in two individual events.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Placed fifth in the 50 free to pick up a point for Penn State in the dual meet with Ohio State....Finished fourth in the 50 free, sixth in the 100 free and was part of the second place 200 free relay team in the dual meet vs. Kenyon....Came in 12th in the 100 free, seventh in the 50 free, and was on the fifth place 400 free relay team and fourth place 200 free relay team at the Shamrock Invitational....Was on the first place 400 free relay team and the third place 400 medley relay team in the dual meet vs. Rutgers....Part of the fourth place 200 medley relay team and placed second in the 100 free at the dual meet vs. St. Bonaventure....Was on the second place 200 free relay team in the dual meet at Florida....Picked up points for Penn State as a member of the 200 free relay team (9th place) and 400 free relay team (6th place)....Finished third in the 50 free in the dual meet vs. West Chester....Placed second in the 50 free and was on the 400 free relay team that finished with the second fastest time while swimming as an exhibition in the dual meet vs. LaSalle..
High School: Goldner was a two-time Pennsylvania State champion during his days at Parkland High School in Allentown and coach Bob Clark. He was part of the 2004 200 medley relay title team and the 2005 400 free relay title team. In 2005, he also placed third in the 50 free and 100 free. Goldner was also a member of the 2005 Summer Junior National Team.
Personal: Jason enjoys computers, building things and working with his hands during his off-time. He is a computer engineering major at Penn State.
