2005-06 Season (Freshman): Made a fine collegiate debut at the Penn State Fall Classic in September, collecting two wins at No. 4 singles and combining with Mark Barry for a win at No. 1 doubles...At the ITA East Regional in October, Slagter and Barry won three doubles matches to advance to the quarterfinals where they were defeated by the eventual championship team...Finished the fall season with an impressive singles record of 13-3...In spring competition, combined with Barry to defeat then-No. 51 ranked Eric Hodgman and P.J. Rose of Purdue, 8-5, helping Penn State to a 7-0 shutout victory over the Boilermakers...The duo earned a national ranking of No. 53 the week of March 7...Combined with Barry to defeat the 66th-ranked duo of Jeremy Sonkin and Nathan Polley of Wisconsin, helping the Nittany Lions to a 5-2 victory over the Badgers...Finished his freshman campaign with a stellar 30-9 singles record, including a dual-match mark of 20-6...Posted an 11-7 singles mark versus Big Ten opponents on the season...Combined with Barry for a 17-11 overall doubles record on the season, as the duo ended the season with a No. 4 Northeast regional ranking.
