Loht helps with day-to-day tasks for the program, which includes various administrative roles, facility management, equipment distribution and alumni relations.
A native of McClure, Pennsylvania, Loht graduated from Penn State in the spring of 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, fitness studies.
Prior to joining the Penn State cross country and track & field staff, Loht worked as an assistant supervisor at the Penn State fitness centers.
During her four years with the program, Loht finished within the Top-Five at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2012-2014, with her highest finish coming in 2012 (third-place). She ended her NCAA career in the javelin with her school record toss of 178’-6”.
She also won two-straight Penn Relays javelin titles in 2013 and 2014. For her performance in the field during the 2012, ‘13 & ‘14 track & field seasons, Loht was named the field MVP of the women’s team all three years.
In the summer of 2011, Loht finished fourth (150’-8”) at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships. Followed by a 16th overall finish (160’-7”) at the 2012 Olympic Trials. In 2013 & ‘14, she competed at the USATF Senior Outdoor Championships in the javelin and finished fifth (177’-8”) in 2013 and 12th (163’-8”) in 2014.
At the Big Ten level, Loht tallied four podium finishes, including a first-place finish at the 2012 Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Loht captured the 2012 Big Ten women’s javelin title in dramatic fashion as she posted a mark of 160-11 on her final attempt. She was also a team captain of two outdoor conference winning squads (2013 & 2014).
