High School: Swam for four years at Parkland High School in Allentown, Pa. and was a team captain her senior year....Team won the district championship in all four of her years on the team....Team finished third at the PIAA state meet twice, second once, and won the state championship her junior year....Individually, swam on the state champion 200 free relay team and the second place 200 medley relay team as a sophomore and also finished 11th in the 500 free and 13th in the 100 free....As a junior, swam on three state champion relay teams as Parkland became the first team in over a decade to sweep all three relays in the AAA division and also finished fifth in the 50 free....Was also inducted into her High School[apos]s Hall of Fame as a junior....As a senior, swam on the fourth place medley, sixth place 200 free and eighth place 400 free relay teams at the state meet....Was a member of the National Honor Society and a senior scholar athlete.
Personal: Katelyn was born on November 8, 1989 in Allentown, Pa....The daughter of James and Sherry Stephens, she has two older sisters, Brooke (24) and Lauren (20)....Lauren is currently a member of the swimming team at Duquesne....Is majoring in broadcast journalism and has career aspirations of being a news anchor at a large broadcasting network....Lists singing, playing the piano and writing poetry as hobbies.
