Former professional player Elijah Burns enters his first season as a graduate assistant in 2023-24.
Burns played collegiately at both Notre Dame (2015-19) and Siena (2019-20). He captained the Fighting Irish during his senior season and helped Notre Dame reach the 2016 Elite Eight and 2017 Sweet Sixteen. Burns played a graduate season at Siena in 2019-20, helping the Saints to the 2020 MAAC regular-season championship as a team captain and second-team All-MAAC honoree.
Burns went on to play professionally overseas for the Worcester Wolves in England (2021), OSE Lions in Hungary (2021-22) and Kagoshime Rebnise (2022) in Japan.
Burns owns prior coaching experience as an assistant with both the Albany City Rocks EYBL program as well as LaSalle Institute in New York.
An ACC and MAAC Academic Honor Roll member, Burns earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Notre Dame in 2019.
