Pam Schalo joined the Nittany Lion Club Staff in January 2022 as a Director of Major Gifts, Intercollegiate Athletics. She moved to State College following 15 years in Northern California where her last position was, Director of Corporate Relations & Major Gifts at Simpson University. She was a Board Member of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Pam has over 30 years of comprehensive private and corporate fortune 100 business, philanthropy, and development experience.
Prior to Simpson University, Pam was a Senior Account Executive & Director of National Accounts for Mattel, Inc. In that role, Pam was responsible for over $300MM in business revenue. She managed the second largest account in the US and traveled to their Hong Kong offices to develop the business. Pam also worked for Sears Holdings Corp., formerly Kmart Corp. where she was a Buyer/Category Manager, managing over $250MM of revenue. Her diverse corporate experiences have positioned her to understand the overall business dynamics; allowing her to have meaningful discussions with donors about their financial investments in support of the Penn State mission.
Pam is a native of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and was recruited by Russ Rose as a member of the Penn State Women’s Volleyball team in the early 80s. She was also a full scholarship student-athlete at University of Maryland where she earned her bachelor’s degree and was a co-captain of the Women’s Volleyball team. Pam also has a Master of Psychology from National University.
Pam has a daughter who will graduate from University of California, Irvine in June of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a minor in Business Management. She is also a full scholarship student-athlete on the UCI Women’s Volleyball team.
