Patrick Nalley is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Penn State swimming and diving programs in 2014.
He came Penn State from Tempe, Ariz., where he was a coach with Sun Devil Aquatics. With Sun Devil Aquatics, Nalley served as the program[apos]s head coach, responsible for the gold, black and National Training Groups, which consistently produced swimmers for the U.S. National Team pool.
Before his stint with Sun Devil Aquatics, Nalley was an assistant coach on staff at Arizona State University from 2007-10. While at Arizona State, Nalley assisted in everyday workouts and trained the sprinters, breaststroke and IM groups. He also assisted in recruitment.
Before arriving at Arizona State, Nalley was a site coordinator for Sun Devil Aquatics, coaching various ages and skill levels, and was in charge of monitoring four separate training sites.
He began his career in Colorado, working as a high school assistant and coaching for both the Falfins and Colorado Rapids Swim Teams. For three years, Nalley was the head coach of the men[apos]s and women[apos]s swim teams at Liberty High School. While at Liberty, Nalley led the school to its best season in nine seasons and produced a top-16 relay team.
Nalley graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 2010 with a bachelor of interdisciplinary studies. He grew up swimming in Fort Wayne, Ind., and swam collegiately for the University of Kentucky in 1997.
