The 2009 season will be the fourth for Ryan Defibaugh at Penn State. He was added to the staff by head coach Barry Gorman in 2006, moving from Division III McDaniel College, located in Westminster, Md., where he served as an assistant for the both the men[apos]s and women[apos]s soccer teams for the previous three years. At McDaniel, he assisted with the goalkeepers, recruiting efforts, and administrative duties.
In 2005, the Green Terror won the Centennial Conference with a 7-1-2 record, allowing just two goals in league play, and finished the season with a 14-4-3 mark.
Defibaugh joined the coaching staff at McDaniel after a distinguished soccer career at his alma mater. A four-year starter in goal for the Green Terror, Defibaugh was a two-time All-Centennial Conference honoree and an All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection.
The Rockville, Md., native graduated from McDaniel College with a Bachelor[apos]s Degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education in 2002 and completed his Master[apos]s Degree in Sports Administration at McDaniel in the spring of 2005. He is currently pursuing his Master[apos]s Degree in Education.
