BEAVER STADIUM

Our Past. Our Future. Our Home.

Renovating Penn State’s Beaver Stadium

As one of the most iconic facilities in collegiate athletics, Beaver Stadium is not only a powerful symbol of Penn State pride—it’s also the economic engine that allows us to support 31 varsity sports. Although beloved by Nittany Lions fans across the generations and feared by teams who face the roaring White Out crowds, Beaver Stadium now struggles to live up to its legend. Penn State and Penn State fans and student-athletes deserve a stadium on par with the excellence of our football program and our institution. The planned renovations will transform Beaver Stadium, ensuring it is home to the best college football atmosphere and fan experience in the country.

Penn State is committed to preserving the identity of the historic venue while also transforming it to be utilized year-round as a campus and community hub of activity. The renovations will extend the life of the existing facility, generate new revenue, and provide exciting new seating options for Nittany Lion fans.

GREENBERG SPORTS PERFORMANCE CENTER

PERFORMANCE DINING AND WELLNESS CENTER

This $31.9 million renovation will include a food services athletic training table, in addition to a wellness and athletic training center benefiting 800-plus student-athletes from all 31 varsity teams. The space, which is adjacent to the Morgan Academic Center, will provide a hub for their academic, nutritional and wellness needs in one central location on campus.

The addition of an all-sport training table will provide a space to fuel the prescribed needs of a high-performance athlete, as well as creating a hub for Penn State’s 800- plus student-athletes to tend to their nutritional, wellness, and academic needs in one central location on campus. The menus, designed by Athletics’ nutrition staff, will offer choices to help student-athletes execute at peak performance.

The wellness and athletic training center will provide medical, rehabilitation, and nutrition services to all Penn State student-athletes. A wellness and recovery suite will include hydrotherapy, massage, chiropractic, sauna, and saline sensory deprivation tanks. SOCCER PERFORMANCE CENTER

The $21.25 million Soccer Performance Center will create conditions that are appropriate for two of the best soccer programs in the country. This new facility will include men’s and women’s team locker rooms, strength and conditioning space, sports medicine center, team meeting rooms, coach’s offices. Fans will now have access to indoor restrooms, concession stands, and additional viewing areas.

Currently, both soccer programs are housed in Rec Hall and are transported by bus to Jeffrey Field on game day. This project will allow the teams to have all facets of their programs efficiently located in one facility where student-athletes will have more time to focus on their academics and athletic training maximizing their potential in the classroom and on the field.
