Who Should Attend
Penn State Fencing Camp is designed for students entering grades 6-12 next fall. It is preferred, but not required, that fencers have a year competitive fencing experience as the camps are not "learn-to-fence" camps.
Fencing Camp
June 15-20
Grades 6-12
Penn State Fencing Camp is designed to provide competitive fencing instruction and extensive bouting experiences with different and new partners, considering the performance levels of each individual camper. The typical daily schedule includes three practice sessions. Camp competitions are scheduled for the last camp day.
The camp program includes:
- Group lessons and drills to enhance fencing skills
- Introduction and reinforcement of tactical concepts and strategies
- Enhancement of knowledge and an appreciation of the sport
- Supervised bouting, using electrical scoring equipment, with a variety of partners to gain new and varied competitive experiences
- A variety of games to enhance physical skills
The camp maintains an excellent student/instructor ratio so that our highly qualified national and international coaches can provide each student with individual coaching attention.
