Participant Retrieval Guidelines for Campers Who are Sick

Day Programs

  • Immediately inform the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the concern and enact the retrieval process
  • Parent(s)/Guardian(s) should plan to retrieve their child as soon as possible
  • The participant can remain in the proximity of the program until the parent arrives to retrieve their child
  • Masking is required

Residential Programs

  • Immediately inform the parent(s)/guardians(s) of the concern and enact the retrieval process.
  • The parent/guardian will be given up to 24 hours to retrieve their child.
  • If the participant drove themselves to camp, with parental permission, they can drive themselves home immediately if feeling well enough to do so.
  • The participant should remain in their assigned room.
  • The roommate should be moved to a new, clean room.
  • Meals will be delivered during isolation.
  • Camp staff, who will be housed on the same floor, will routinely check-in with the participant via cell phone.
      • Because of the possibility that a participant may be required to isolate or quarantine for a period of time until they are picked up, parent(s)/guardians(s) should consider their child’s mental and emotional preparedness for this situation.
      • If a participant is a close contact of an infected person during the camp and is symptomatic, they will be quarantined, tested and the parent(s)/guardian(s) emergency pick-up guidelines will apply.
