Pieces of Penn State's Historic Rec Hall Floor Available to Purchase as Keepsakes or Gifts

State College, Pa. - December 11, 2001 - Rec Hall, on the campus of Penn State University, has been the site of countless historic moments in Penn State athletics. Recently the building was renovated and the original floor was replaced. Personalized pieces of that original floor are available as Penn State athletics memorabilia or as gifts.

"With the increased interest in sports memorabilia of all types, we thought this would be something in which our fans would have a great interest," said John Powell, director of athletic development. "We're sure our former student-athletes and countless fans who saw memorable events there will appreciate the opportunity to have a tangible piece of Penn State history."

The floor parts are mounted on a plaque or paperweight, complete with a certificate of authenticity. Paperweight plaques cost $35 with larger items costing up to $119. All profits from sales will support Athletic Department Scholarships.
