UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. October 6, 2005 - The high-powered No. 6 Nittany Lion field hockey team takes its show on the road to face No. 12 Iowa at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The GameTracker feature will be available, and fans can log onto www.GoPSUsports.com on Saturday for a link.

The No. 6 Nittany Lions have won 12 straight games coming into Saturday's contest, which ties for the second-longest streak in program history. Only 1993's streak of 15 in a row ranks higher.

This year, the Lions (12-1, 2-0) are led by the Big Ten's two most prolific goal scorers in Annelise Legel (Morgantown, Pa.) and Shaun Banta (Gibbsboro, N.J.). Legel and Banta have caged 11 goals each this season, and are tied atop the Conference in that category with Ohio State's Lucy Clayton.

Legel is coming off a stellar week in which she scored three goals in two games vs. Syracuse and No. 13 Michigan to earn Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week accolades. The Penn State junior ranks second in the Big Ten in points with 25, second in points per game (1.92), and third in goals per game (0.85). The forward is a big part of Penn State's dominant offense, which ranks first in scoring margin (3.10), scoring average (4.02), goals scored (48) and goals scored per game (3.69).

Overall, Penn State trails the Hawkeyes, 14 games to 20, in the all-time series, and lost last-season's game, 2-1, in double-overtime. Iowa is coming off a 4-3 win over Northwestern on Tuesday.
