Penn State (10-13, 4-8) is coming off a tough road loss at Indiana. Amanda Brown (Kennett Square, Pa.) led the team in that game with 11 points. Brown is one of just two players to rank in the Conference top 10 in points, rebounds, blocks and field goal percentage, joining preseason Big Ten Player of the Year Jessica Davenport with that distinction. Brown is putting up a team-best 15.9 ppg (which ranks sixth in the Big Ten), 7.3 rpg (6th), 2.13 blocks per game (2nd) and shooting 61 percent from the field (2nd).

Kam Gissendanner (Clairton, Pa.) is chipping in 15.4 ppg. Gissendanner has been extremely consistent this year, and has tallied double-digit scoring figures in 21 of Penn State's 23 games. The All-Big Ten candidate has reached the 18-point mark eight times, eclipsed the 20-point plateau four times, and scored over 30 once.

The job of getting the ball to Penn State's two big scorers falls on the shoulders of leading Big Ten Freshman of the Year candidate Brianne O'Rourke (Pittsburgh, Pa.). O'Rourke is leading the league in assists per game at 5.4 , and leading all freshmen in assists, minutes played, steals and assist-to-turnover ratio. She is also the only freshman to rank in the top 15 in any of those categories.

Illinois comes into this game with a 12-11 mark overall and a 4-8 record in the Big Ten. Ilinois has lost its last seven straight games after starting the Conference season 5-1. The Illini are led by Janelle Hughes, who is averaging 13.2 ppg. Pennsylvania native Erin Wigley is netting 11.3 ppg and Audrey Tabon leads the team on the boards with 6.9 per game. As a team, the Illini are averaging 64.4 ppg and holding their opponents to 60.7 ppg. On the boards the Illini are pulling down 37.4 rpg. The team is shooting 42 percent from the field, 33 percent from the 3-point line and 74 percent from the free throw line. Illinois is coming off a 66-61 loss to Wisconsin at home. Lori Bjork scored 27 points, but could not overcome the Badgers, who shot 48 percent from the field, compared to a 37 percent performance from Illinois.

Penn State travels to Wisconsin for a 7 p.m. matchup on Thursday, Feb. 16 before its final two home games. First the Lady Lions host Northwestern on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. Next Penn State welcomes Ohio State in the regular season finale on Sunday Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.
