UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - After a weekend of outstanding play, Penn State midfielder Zoe Bouchelle (Cockeysville, Md.) earned Big Ten Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors. Bouchelle scored the game-winning goal in Friday's match against Michigan State and provided the assist for the gamewinner Sunday against Michigan. She is the third member of the Penn State women's soccer team to be recognized for her outstanding play this season by the Big Ten.
Bouchelle, a junior midfielder, was also named Penn State's Female Student-Athlete of the Week. The Maryland native tallied six total points this weekend to help the Nittany Lions stay undefeated in Big Ten play. She had a hand in all four goals scored this weekend.
Last week, Katie Schoepfer (Waterford, Conn.), a sophomore forward, picked up her second Big Ten Women's Soccer Player of the Week honor after scoring in eight straight games. Her streak currently stands at 10 mqtches. Goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher (Seymour, Conn.) also received Player of the Week honors in September.
Bouchelle and the Nittany Lions will look to continue their 10 game unbeaten streak this weekend as Penn State takes on Iowa (6-4-4) on Fri. Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. in Iowa City, Iowa and Minnesota (7-6-1) on Sun. Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. in Minneapolis, Minn. Sunday's contest against Minnesota will air tape-delayed on the Big Ten Network on Mon. Oct. 22 at 8 p.m.
