Several Nittany Lions Advance to Thursday Night's Big Ten Finals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Led by senior Sean Biedermann (Colorado Springs, Colo.), who finished 10th in Thursday's preliminaries of the 200 IM, three Nittany Lions qualified for the finals at the 2008 Big Ten Men's Swimming & Diving Championships. Junior Ryan DeWeese (Midlothian, Va.) and junior Vincent Reydams (Falls Church, Va.) also made the finals in the 500 free and 50 free, respectively.

In the 200 IM, Biedermann swam a 1:47.86, an NCAA "B" Qualifying time and a high mark for the senior this season.

Deweese finished with a season-high 4:25.45 in the 500 freestyle to advance to Thursday night's final. The NCAA "B" qualifying mark has him in the night's first heat of the 500.

Tying for 16th in the morning preliminaries, Reydams advances to the finals of the 50 free after swimming a 20.18, an NCAA "B" qualifying time.
