STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Penn State Nittany Lion lacrosse player Drew Adams (Springfield, Pa.) has been named the ECAC Lacrosse League Defensive Co-Defensive Player of the Week. He shares the award for the week ending on March 16 with Georgetown's Miles Kass.
Adams was simply stunning in Penn State's 7-4 win over Vermont on Saturday. The two-time ECAC Goalie of the Year allowed only four goals against 38 Vermont shots and shut the Catamounts out until the third quarter. Adams had 16 saves, many of which were from point blank range. The junior also led Penn State with seven ground balls. Against Villanova on Tuesday, Adams allowed just two goals in 54:05 while making 10 saves.
The honor is the first such honor for a Nittany Lion this year. Penn State is now 3-3 on the year and will visit Fairfield on Friday night for a 7 p.m. ECAC contest.
