UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's golf team is held at 11th place following through the final round of the Hawkeye Invitational.
The Nittany Lions shot a third round score of 321 for a final score of 959. Ball State pulled ahead of Iowa to claim a first place finish with 921 while Iowa fell to 926, taking second place.
Sophomore Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) continued to lead the Nittany Lions with a third round score of 78 to reach a final score of 236. She finished the tournament tied for 23rd place. Sophomore Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) followed closely behind with a final score of 240 to tie in 36th place.
The women's golf team will next compete in the Lady Northern Invitational which will be held in West Lafayette, Ind., at Purdue on Saturday and Sunday, October 18 and 19.
