Season Finale of Courtside with Coquese Showcases Seniors

The Lady Lion Basketball team celebrates the small successes and revels in the big accomplishments as they reflect on the 2008-2009 season. On this season finale of "Courtside with Coquese," Coach Coquese Washington counts down her top five moments of the past season. And three seniors on the team have wrapped up their collegiate basketball careers. Rashida Mark, Brianne O'Rourke and Mashea Williams look back at four years of camaraderie and competition.

"Courtside with Coquese" airs Friday at 10 p.m. and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. on WPSU-TV. The show airs again on Sunday at 3:30p.m. On WPSU-PBS WORLD. It will air nationally on April 1 at 11:30 a.m. on the Big Ten Network. Fans can also view selected show segments online at GoPSUsports.com and LadyLions.com. The full episode will also be available on Comcast Video On Demand in Pennsylvania beginning on Wednesday, April 1.

During this episode, you'll see that the teammates aren't the only ones who have a little game! Others associated with the program are in a league of their own, and they show off their ball skills this week during intramural competition. Also, you'll meet four of the best high school athletes from around the country - women who have chosen to start their college careers at Penn State University. Coach Washington's 2009 recruiting class is ranked #7 by Blue Star Basketball and #13 by the All Star Girls Report.

The program won a Mid-Atlantic Emmy in 2008 for best Sports Program/Series.

"Courtside with Coquese," is produced by WPSU-TV, central Pennsylvania's PBS-member station, which offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at one of the nation's top women's basketball programs. "Courtside with Coquese" takes viewers on an all-access tour of the Lady Lion program including road trips, locker room access, features, game highlights and player interviews.

Coach Coquese Washington is in her second season as head coach of the Penn State Lady Lion Basketball Team. She came to Penn State from Notre Dame University, where she served as an assistant for eight seasons, most recently as associate head coach. She is considered one of the top recruiters in the country and was instrumental in helping Notre Dame secure eight consecutive Top 25 recruiting classes, according to Blue Star Index.
