Penn State Takes Fifth at Canes and Cardinals Classic

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's golf team finished the Canes and Cardinals Classic in fifth place with a final score of 918. The tournament was held by the University of Miami in Miami, Fla.

Sophomore Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) pulled ahead to a fifth place finish individually with a score of 223. Sophomore Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) finished with a score of 231, tying for 21st place. Junior Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) was close behind in a tie for 25th place with a score of 233. Junior Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) and sophomore Victoria Arena (Lansdale, Pa.) rounded out the team with scores of 239 and 244, respectively.

Freshman Emily Riddle (St. Mary's, Pa.) finished in a tie for 45th place with a score of 240.

San Jose State University claimed the top finish at the tournament, while Washington State University and Princeton University tied at second place. The University of Miami took the fourth place spot with Penn State rounding out the top five of the 12 teams.

The Nittany Lions will compete in the Lady Buckeye event hosted by Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19.
